Appliance Maintenance FAQ

What is Mountain Maytag HomeCare™?

Mountain Maytag HomeCare™ is an annual preventative maintenance membership designed to help homeowners care for the major appliances they depend on every day. Each membership includes a Professional Appliance Wellness Visit, hands-on preventative maintenance, priority scheduling, and a 15% member discount on qualifying appliance repairs, including both parts and labor.

What is a Professional Appliance Wellness Visit?

A Professional Appliance Wellness Visit is a hands-on preventative maintenance appointment performed by a trained Mountain Maytag technician. During the visit, we evaluate general appliance operation, perform routine maintenance where appropriate, make minor adjustments when appropriate, and provide professional recommendations based on the condition of your appliances at the time of service.

The purpose of the visit is to help identify developing concerns early and promote reliable appliance performance through routine preventative maintenance.

What happens if I need to reschedule my HomeCare™ Wellness Visit?

We understand that schedules change.

If you need to reschedule your Professional Appliance Wellness Visit, please contact Mountain Maytag as soon as possible so we can assist you.

Because HomeCare™ Wellness Visits are scheduled in advance to maximize route efficiency, appointment dates and times cannot be guaranteed when rescheduling. Requests to reschedule will be accommodated based on Mountain Maytag's next available scheduling opportunity.

Repeated cancellations, missed appointments, or excessive rescheduling requests may delay future service availability. Please refer to your HomeCare™ Service Agreement for complete scheduling terms and conditions.

What if I replace one of my appliances during my HomeCare™ membership?

HomeCare™ memberships are designed to maintain the major appliances located at the enrolled service address.

If you purchase a replacement appliance through Mountain Maytag, we'll gladly update your HomeCare™ membership so your new appliance is included in your preventative maintenance plan for future Wellness Visits.

If a replacement appliance is purchased through another retailer or installer, the new appliance can be added to your HomeCare™ membership at the beginning of your next membership renewal period.

If you're considering replacing an appliance, our team is happy to help you compare repair and replacement options. As an Authorized Whirlpool dealer, Mountain Maytag also offers professional delivery, installation, and haul-away services, making us your one-stop appliance solution.

Is HomeCare™ a repair service?

No. HomeCare™ is a preventative maintenance membership, not a repair service or comprehensive diagnostic evaluation.

If concerns are identified during your Wellness Visit, our technician will explain their observations and discuss whether additional diagnostic testing or repairs are recommended before any additional work is performed.

Does HomeCare™ eliminate future repairs?

No. Preventative maintenance reduces the likelihood of unexpected failures by identifying developing issues early, but no maintenance program can prevent every mechanical or electrical failure.

HomeCare™ is designed to help you make informed maintenance decisions and address small concerns before they become larger, more expensive repairs.

What appliances are covered?

HomeCare™ is designed for the major household appliances found in most homes, including:

  • Refrigerator
  • Freezer
  • Ice Maker
  • Dishwasher
  • Range
  • Oven
  • Cooktop
  • Built-In & Over-the-Range Microwave
  • Washer
  • Dryer

What appliances are not covered?

HomeCare™ does not include countertop or portable appliances such as coffee makers, countertop microwaves, air fryers, blenders, mixers, toaster ovens, pressure cookers, portable ice makers, or other small household appliances.

What happens during a HomeCare™ Wellness Visit?

Every Wellness Visit is customized to the appliances covered under your membership.

Depending on the appliance, manufacturer recommendations, age, condition, and accessibility, your technician may:

  • Verify proper appliance operation
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance
  • Clean accessible service areas where appropriate
  • Clean lint accumulation and airflow pathways where applicable
  • Check appliance leveling and stability
  • Inspect accessible hoses, vents, filters, and electrical connections
  • Evaluate accessible mechanical components
  • Identify developing wear or performance concerns
  • Make minor adjustments when appropriate
  • Provide professional maintenance recommendations

The maintenance performed will vary depending on the appliance and its condition.

How long does a HomeCare™ Wellness Visit take?

Appointment times vary depending on the membership selected, the number of appliances covered, and the condition of those appliances.

Most HomeCare™ Complete Wellness Visits are designed to be completed in approximately one hour.

Is HomeCare™ worth it?

Routine preventative maintenance is one of the most effective ways to maximize appliance performance, identify developing problems early, and help protect the investment you've made in your home.

HomeCare™ also includes a 15% member discount on qualifying repairs, helping reduce future repair costs should service become necessary.

What does the 15% member discount include?

HomeCare™ members receive a 15% discount on qualifying appliance repairs performed by Mountain Maytag, including both parts and labor.

The member discount does not apply to:

  • New appliance purchases
  • Appliance replacements
  • HomeCare™ membership fees
  • Delivery services
  • Installation services
  • Other non-qualifying products or services

Do HomeCare™ members receive priority scheduling?

Yes. HomeCare™ members receive priority scheduling whenever appointments are available.

How often should my appliances receive preventative maintenance?

Most major household appliances benefit from professional preventative maintenance once each year.

Routine annual maintenance helps promote efficient operation, identify developing concerns, and support the long-term performance of your appliances.

Is HomeCare™ only recommended for older appliances?

No. Newer appliances also benefit from routine maintenance.

However, homeowners with appliances that are five years old or older often receive the greatest benefit because preventative maintenance can help identify wear before it develops into larger repairs.

I recently purchased a home. Is HomeCare™ recommended?

Yes. Many homeowners are unfamiliar with the maintenance history of the appliances that came with their home.

A Professional Appliance Wellness Visit provides a great starting point for evaluating the general condition of your appliances and establishing a preventative maintenance routine moving forward.

Will my appliances be disassembled?

Some appliances may require normal access to serviceable areas in order to perform preventative maintenance. The extent of access varies by appliance, manufacturer recommendations, accessibility, and the maintenance being performed.

HomeCare™ Wellness Visits are intended to provide preventative maintenance and are not comprehensive tear-down inspections or repair appointments.

What happens if you find a problem during my Wellness Visit?

If our technician identifies a concern that may require additional attention, we'll explain our observations, answer any questions, and discuss your options before recommending additional diagnostic testing or repair.

No additional repairs or diagnostic services will be performed without your approval.

Do I have to repair my appliance if service is recommended?

No.

Our technicians provide honest recommendations based on the condition of your appliance, but the decision to move forward with additional services is always yours.

How do I enroll in HomeCare™?

HomeCare™ memberships can be requested online through our secure booking system.

Submitting your online registration reserves your enrollment request only. No payment is required during registration.

Once your request is received, a member of our team will review your membership, answer any questions, provide your HomeCare™ Service Agreement, and collect payment before scheduling your Professional Appliance Wellness Visit.

When is payment due?

No payment is required when submitting your online enrollment request.

Payment is required after your HomeCare™ Service Agreement has been reviewed and signed and before your Professional Appliance Wellness Visit is scheduled.

Can I cancel my HomeCare™ membership?

Yes.

If you choose to cancel before your first scheduled Wellness Visit, you may request a full refund.

Once your Wellness Visit has been completed, your membership remains active through the current membership term. Cancellation requests received after services have been rendered will prevent your membership from renewing for the next term but do not qualify for a refund of the current membership.

Please refer to your HomeCare™ Service Agreement for complete cancellation terms.

Is HomeCare™ transferable?

No.

HomeCare™ memberships are issued to the enrolled service address and are not transferable to another customer or property.

Do you offer HomeCare™ for rental properties?

Yes.

HomeCare™ PropertyCare is designed specifically for property owners and property managers enrolling multiple residential units under one maintenance program.

Who qualifies for HomeCare™ PropertyCare?

PropertyCare is available to customers who enroll a minimum of two residential doors under the HomeCare™ program.

Eligibility is determined by the number of residential doors enrolled, not the total number of properties or units owned.

For example:

  • A customer with a 20-unit portfolio who enrolls five units qualifies.
  • A customer with a 100-unit portfolio who enrolls ten units qualifies.

I manage more than 10 rental units. Do you offer additional discounts?

Yes.

Customers enrolling more than 10 residential doors are encouraged to contact Mountain Maytag for a customized maintenance proposal.

Additional portfolio pricing, customized service schedules, and volume discounts may be available depending on the number of enrolled doors and the services requested.
